Oseana Bratton

Program Manager, CRPC & Trauma Services

A native Californian, Oseana Bratton began her nursing career as a student at San Diego State University. She obtained her BSN, Cum Laude in May 2007. While in school she had opportunities to extern in various departments and quickly fell in love with pediatric emergency medicine! She was accepted into the new graduate program at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego where she worked for 10 years as a Pediatric Emergency/Trauma nurse. She spent her last 2 years at RCHSD on the Emergency Department management team as a clinical nurse supervisor. Oseana has also attended the Wound, Ostomy, & Continence Nurse course at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She spent a combined 2.5 years working per diem in an adult Wound & Hyperbaric Medicine. In October 2016, Oseana followed her love for pediatrics and emergency medicine all the way to Knoxville, TN where she accepted the position as CRPC & Trauma Coordinator at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. In her role of CRPC coordinator, Oseana is excited to focus her attention on pediatric pre-hospital education in the East Tennessee regions. She is passionate about ensuring seamless pediatric emergency care and preparedness by means of education and teamwork. Oseana has also been a member of various international outreach groups and has helped to provide pediatric health care and education to communities in various countries. She enjoys spending her free time reading, sleeping and playing soccer.

Elliot Mitzelfeld

Outreach Specialist, CRPC & Trauma Services

Originally from Nashville, Elliot moved to Knoxville to be closer to family and to pursue a career in emergency services. A Nationally Registered Paramedic and Tennessee Paramedic Instructor Coordinator, Elliot has 8 years of prehospital experience in both EMS and rescue settings. In addition to his field experience, Elliot brings a strong background in education. He maintains instructor status for multiple certifications including BLS, PALS, EPC, AMLS, EVOS, EVOC, GEMS, PHTLS, and TECC. Before joining our team, Elliot served as a program instructor at a local community college where he taught initial EMS education for regional ambulance services and fire departments. Elliot is passionate about improving pediatric emergency care through education and outreach. In his role with the ETCH Regional Outreach Team, Elliot works closely with EMS agencies, fire departments, and hospitals across East Tennessee, providing training and resources to ensure the best possible care for children in emergency situations. Outside of work, Elliot enjoys camping, exploring the mountains and spending time with his wife and their animals.

Mary Horner

Outreach Specialist, CRPC & Trauma Services

Mary began her nursing career in 2000 as a graduate of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, college of nursing. She accepted her first nursing job at Knoxville Pediatric Associates where she worked for 2 years. In 2002 she took her pediatric experience to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital where she spent the next 19 years in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. During her time in the PICU, she precepted many new nurses, acted as charge nurse, and was a part of the Critical Care Transport Team. In May 2021, Mary transitioned to the CRPC outreach team where is providing pediatric education to referral hospitals and pre-hospital medical professionals. She is a BLS, PALS, and ENPC instructor. She is also a longtime member of the hospital ethics committee. Mary is an active member of her community and church. She enjoys cooking and bargain shopping. In her free time, you can find her with her husband and 2 blonde headed daughters.

    This site is for anyone and everyone who takes care of kids! We will have content for all levels of providers who take care of kids in an emergency setting!

  • What kind of classes will you offer?

    We will have courses and content that will cover a wide range of pediatric topics. Our goal is to offer classes and content that can be reviewed at each learners own pace.

  • Can I use these classes for contact hours?

    Our online courses have been approved by the State of TN office of EMS. If you need hours for other licenses or certifications, please reach out to ensure that the hours will count for you.
